Walmart, you have no right to detain us, or request our receipt.
It’s high time we tell Walmart what we think about them calling us thieves every time we shop.
Sign The Petition And Make Your Voice Heard
Dear Walmart,
We, the faithful shoppers of your thousands and thousands of stores across the United States, are challenging your receipt checking policy. By forcing any patron of your establishment, you are infringing on our constitutional right to property and safety from illegal search and seizure.
We insist you stop this policy at all your stores nationwide. Stop asking us for our receipts and do your own dirty work.
Sincerely,
The People Of The United States of America,
Also known as "The People Who Made You The Largest Company In The World"

There’s a ton of views on this page, but not many signatures. Is there a reason?

here’s an idea…if you don’t like walmart, don’t shop there. crazy, huh? and, oh yeah, asking to see your receipt isn’t a violation of your constitutional rights. good lord. find a real cause to fight for.

I worked in a department store and asking to see a receipt is legally accusing you of shoplifting. When I was worked there, I was told to never ever ask for a receipt because the store and or me personnaly could be sued over doing so.

My mom signed a petition once, for something she thought was a good idea – not negative at all – then the person who it was against who my mom even knew had a house inspector go to everyone’s house on the list and my mom ended up having to redo the roof – raising 3 children on her own working 40+ hours a week. Just saying they have their ways of coming back and biting people in the ass – but probably worse.
