Dear Frustrated Walmart Victim,

We are sure that you have had the displeasure of having to shop at Walmart this Holiday season. We are also sure that you have been asked to “Please hold on to your receipt, they are checking them at the door”, or “Please, I need to see your receipt before you can leave.” And if you asked why, the same response has been given over and over – “I’m just doing my job”.

It’s Time To Stop Walmart Receipt Checking Madness! You are NOT a THEIF!

Walmart checks your receipts to help control stealing. So in essence, they accuse EVERYONE of stealing, even after spending your hard earned money, and they force you to show your receipt on the way out the door. Walmart has ways of masking this so it seems a little more innocent. For example – they may not check your bags, but they look at your cart and then your receipt to make sure there are no larger items that aren’t on the receipt. This is just as wrong and it needs to stop!

Help Us Stop Walmart From Checking Everyone’s Receipts! It’s Time For Civil Disobedience!

From the year 2008 and on, let’s all say NO to Walmart’s Receipt Checking Policy! All you need to do is say NO! and keep walking. If you didn’t steal anything, you have nothing to worry about. You can’t even get kicked out of the store, or prevented from shopping there! Walmart will NOT risk the publicity of a court case against them.

Today on my way home from work I had to stop at Wal-Mart to get a few items from the pharmacy dept. Some antibiotic ointment ,some peroxide and a package of bandages all for a cut on my foot.I then proceeded to the beverage dept. and picked up a case of beer and put it in my cart.At this point I thought my weekend would begin with self doctoring of my foot injury and a few brews(WAL-MART did not see it that way)I made my way to the nearest checkout isle (they have 25 of these but only two open)and paid for my stuff. If I remember right it came to $20.49 , I stuffed the receipt in my front pocket and pushed my cart containing one small bag and one case of beer to the exit where I was stopped by an elderly lady who said “I have to see your receipt Sir!” I made the mistake of asking “why” she said it is store policy “If it is not in a bag we have to check” I then asked this poor drone if she thought that I had stole something..her reply was “your receipt please”..All I wanted was to go home and doctor my foot and drink a beer ..but no.
Don’t get me wrong, I have every respect for the elderly, and I know that by working at wally world they may supplement their meager fixed income but please don’t stop me at the door after I have paid for my stuff demanding proof of purchase. I told her the receipt was in my front pocket and if you want to see it you must get it out of my pocket yourself. “I will just go get the manager” she said…so I waited for her and the manager for almost ten minutes..neither came back, so I left the store.

Why are you mad at this poor lady who is merely doing her job. You should be mad the idiots who go into store and merely steal what they want. It’s because of them that the honest, paying customer had to endure this. With all that is going in the world is this really the battle you choose to fight?

Ok, I came across several people who are upset about Wal-Mart checking receipts, that is just really sad, you guys don’t have anything more serious to bitch about? Get real, they check receipts to keep the theft of large and usually more expensive products down. Which I don’t blame them. They lose a tone of money everyday due to thieves. I don’t know you but I wouldn’t trust you, or anyone else for that matter. Seriously your complaint is ridiculous.
